. Welcome back . What you experience during my yoga practice are the five pranas. In my class the 5 movements called prana vayus and the 5 elements are present and integrated in an armonious symphony. The first that we meet is the Prana Vayu that is a forward momentum in the practice and is used to energize the body. For example in the meditation, intention ,Sankalpa we do at beginning of the class. The second is the Vyana Vayu that governs the circulation and is used for expansion. Example arms legs are involved in the sun salutation. The third is the Samana Vayu used for assimilation. Example when we sit down and we focus on the navel we are in absorption consolidating the practice. The fourth Udana Vayu governs the growth and the expression. Example ,almost at the end of the practice stimulating the throat, the neck. The fifth Apana Vayu is a downward movement and governs elimination. Example the very last poses before shavasana working with the low abdomen. During the class these Prana Vayus are present in movements, pranayama and stillness. I receive many clients that are interested, curious and sometime afraid about Ayurveda.Most of them think that Ayurveda is a long, difficult approach for them.

KEEPING THE MIND AND THE BODY IN CHITTA VRITTI NIRODHA WE AVOID ( WHEN NECESSARY) THE SHIFT OF THE MIND. THIS MUDRA IS ALSO USEFUL TO MANAGE ANXIETY AND REMOVE TOXIC THOUGHTS OR OLD BELIEFS. IT IS TRUE THAT WE ARE WHAT WE EAT BUT IS ALSO TRUE THAT WE ARE WHAT WE DIGEST. AN HELTHY STRONG AGNI GENERATE INTERNAL WARMTH ALLOWING VITAL ENERGY AND CLEAR MIND. THE QUALITY OF AGNI DEPENDS OF OUR DOSHA . KAPHA AND VATA SOMETIMES TEND TO HAVE A WEAK OR IRREGULAR AGNI WHILE PITTA SOMETIMES TEND TO BE TOO EXCESSIVE. AFTER THE HOLIDAYS ,DURING AN ILLNESS OR AFTER IT,IN PERIODS OF OVERWORKING AGNI CAN BE IN DISORDER. AN HELP CAN COME FROM THE WORLD OF HERBS AND PLANTS. SOME SIMPLE AYURVEDIC PRACTICES TO EQUILIBRATE AGNI: 1 BEFORE THE MEALS EATING A SMALL AMOUNT OF FRESH GINGER WITH SOME DROPS OF LEMON HELP TO PREPARE THE STOMACH TO RECEIVE THE FOOD CREATING THE 'GOOD FIRE' TO DIGEST THE MEAL. 2 EATING SOME SMALL PIECES OF CARDAMOM SEEDS AFTER THE MEAL HELP TO PRODUCE THE SALIVA AND STIMULATE THE ENZYMES IN THE INTESTINE. 3 TO HELP AVOIDING THE FERMENTATION OF FOOD AND THE HORRIBLE SENSATION OF GAS IN THE COLON COOKING IN WATER FENNEL AND ANIS AND DRINKING DURING THE DAY . 4 THE KING OF HERBAL REMEDIES IN AYURVEDA IS THE ROOT OF ASAFETIDA .THE USE OF THIS ROOT ESPECIALLY AFTER THE LONG HEAVY MEALS DURING THE HOLIDAYS AND AFYER AN ILLNESS IS CAPABLE TO REMOVE TOXINS FROM THE GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT. CREATE A PAINTING OR A COLLAGE OF YOUR INTENT. BEING CREATIVE WITH STONES ,SEEDS OF NATURE,SHELLS ETC OPEN YOUR MIND AND GIVE YOU THE FOCUS ON WHAT YOU REALLY WANT/DESIRE. CREATE AN ALTAR IN YOUR ROOM AND WATCH IT DURING THE DAY TO GIVE POWER AND ENERGY. TRUST THE UNIVERSE LET ITGO BE ON FAITH NAMASTE' Namaste is the way to manifest our gratitude and reverence to life. Our daily practice with reverence and humility can bring us in a place of consciousness of the Divine. Every time we are grateful for the gift of life we receive the sweet word of the Divine.
